University of Colorado Denver - Become a Palliative Care Community Specialist

The University of Colorado Denver is now accepting applications for the Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Track of the Master of Science in Palliative Care (MSPC) and the Interprofessional Certificate in Palliative Care.

The MSPC AHP Track prepares social workers, spiritual care providers, psychologists, therapists, counselors and ethicists to be Palliative Care Community Specialists (PCCSs) who offer high quality palliative care to patients and families with serious and life-limiting illness. Allied health students engage with biomedical students (physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists) in the majority of program coursework, reflecting the way PCCSs work on interdisciplinary teams in diverse palliative care contexts. The interprofessional faculty team also represents expertise across biomedical and allied health disciplines. In addition to the shared core curriculum, the AHP Track provides specialized content in psycho-social-spiritual-ethical dimensions of palliative care. The MSPC program (36 credit hours) and the Interprofessional Certificate (12 credit hours) are offered in a hybrid learning format, utilizing interactive online instruction. Three, 3-day weekend intensives on the Anschutz Medical Campus (Denver CO) are scheduled across the 24-month MSPC program to further enhance learning.
